Hello,
I created an action with url to record entry as per the instruction in Entry and Exit readme. But I don't understand how to link an action to the user-specific NFC/QR urls. All I see are predefined codes beside each user with no way to link them to a defined action.

In addition, QR code generation does not seem to be working. Getting broken links.

The URL / QR codes generated by the NFC/QR Actions module are unique to a user / student.

In other words, the same URL is used for as many actions as you need. Please read below.

Once you have created an action (under menu NFC/QR Actions > Actions), you will have to assign it to your user (under menu NFC/QR Actions > My Actions).

To perform a specific action, log into RosarioSIS with your admin/teacher user, and select it when a QR code or NFC card is scanned from the same device you are logged in (a new browser tab will open).

You can also set the action as predefined so you don't have to select it every time.

Can you reproduce this on the demo?

Do you have any errors in the Apache error log?

One thing I am noticing is that I have to login again. e.g. I am already logged in as admin on my phone. Then I scan a QR Code for one of the users (teacher) from my phone and open the parsed link. I get the login screen again even though I am logged in as admin on another tab.

There you go, you should install the PHP gd extension.

You shouldn't have to log in again.

This can happen if the domain of the URL you used when logging in as an admin is not the same one as the domain of the QR code link.

Session cookies are set on a per domain basis, so if you can access your instance using 2 different (sub)domains, you should fix that first.

Another reason could be you are using 2 different browsers, and the link in the QR code opens in another browser.

What's weird is that I lose my session cookie in the original tab as well when that happens.

What you could do to debug is:

Try on the demo

In case the problem stays the same, then

Try with another browser (Firefox for example)
Try with a dedicated app to read QR codes

asif21hasan I have reproduced the exact issue on Android with Firefox and a QR code reader app.

One workaround is to copy the URL in the clipboard, switch to the browser, open a new tab and paste the URL.

Otherwise, the session is lost...

But anyway, it is still faster to click on the login button when the browser tab opens up. The workaround involves more steps.

I was not able to find anything relevant regarding this behavior of the browser on Android, and I am pretty sure there was no issue last year on my old Android 5 phone...

Update: this does work OK with the DuckDuckGo browser

The issue was also reproduced with the Chrome browser.

Thank you for confirming. Any idea why the session gets lost when clicking on the url vs manual copy-paste into the browser? This just seems so weird and random. What is it that could be happening to cause this issue?

asif21hasan OK, I have pinned down the issue.

This is due to the SameSite=Strict cookie policy enforced by RosarioSIS.

So when a new browser tab is opened by another app, some browsers do not consider it being strictly "SameSite".

Instead of lowering security to allow that, the module/URL now uses a redirection in Javascript.

Version 2.0 of the NFC/QR Actions module fixes that.

Warning: as a result, URLs (and thus QR codes) have changed...

Hello, I was wondering how to enable the continuous QR codes reading mode, so the mobile screen is always awake and the students they just scan they QR codes one after another without tapping any thing. And the system record every scan on time.
Any Clarification please.
And what App are you using on Android and which browser.

You want full automation, I would not know how to do that.

I just know now most browsers can scan QR codes and open URL in new tabs. But that requires someone to control the smartphone and click some buttons as per my tests.
