We use negative balances example -$40.00 to let persons know that we the school owe them. But in RosarioSIS there is a negative sign being showed on email with student balance when fees are greater than payments. How do i fix that?

I want negative sign to show on Credit balances only.

The balance is calculated this way:
-1 x (Fees minus Payments) = Balance

So in your example, -$40.00 means fees are greater than payments. Or put it differently this is a debit of $40 for the student (student owes the school).

If this is not the case for you, please share screenshots of student fees, payments and the balance.

Please see the screenshot that shows the balance as credit when its a debit balance. Also when I send the balance via email it shows as negative too it should be 1500 - 300 = 1200 and not -1200

Thanks for the screenshots.

Some programs use the "CR" (Credit) notation, as seen on your last screenshot:
For example: Payments $800 minus Fees $500 = $300CR

While others will use the negative ("-") notation, as seen on your 2 first screenshots.
For example: Payments $500 minus Fees $800 = -$300

It is not possible for administrators to configure how the balance is displayed (notation).
