I’ve completed the translation of rosariosis.po and started on the help files, but I’m unable to test the translation.
When I select Italian at login (http://localhost/rosariosis/index.php?locale=it_IT.utf8
), the interface remains in English. I also tried adding ?locale=it_IT.utf8 to the URL, but it made no difference.
Switching to French or Spanish also results in the interface still displaying in English.
Could you please advise what I might be doing wrong?

You'll just have to be a little patient, I have 2 adorable little 3 year old tornadoes who don't leave me much time but I'm working on it!

Great!

Regarding the translation of the interface, this is a gettext / locale issue:

Either you've installed RosarioSIS on Windows and you should not have gettext (the PHP gettext extension) enabled.
See the php.ini section of the tutorial to enable / disable extensions.

Either you've installed on Linux and have not installed the it_IT.utf8 locale on your server.
To install a locale, check the installation tutorial (Other languages section).

If you didn't install RosarioSIS yourself, please ask your server administrator for help.

I’m on Windows, that’s exactly what I had missed! (I had also read about this and thought I had already tried it ) Thanks, it’s working now!
I’ll let you know once I’ve completed the translation and testing!

Not great. I had finished everything, tested it, and then the virtual machine I was working on gave up on life. I'm trying to bring it back, but honestly, I think I'll have to start over, again.
This translation feels cursed, someone must've thrown a macumba on it...

Oh that's bad news...

You may have luck trying to recover the disk. Did you try those solutions?

I don't speak Italian, but for testing purposes, you can send me the po and mo files and view the results on my test site. If the data is lost, a copy will remain on the site.
I'm translating for a couple of Eastern European languages, and I had to triple-check the data, just in case. I already had experience with data storages...
