[Solved] Google Login causing Incorrect Credentials Error

Good afternoon!

We're trying to switch from OpenSIS to RosarioSIS, one of the main reasons being the simple and included Google login. Unlike OpenSIS, this integrates great with our SSO portal.

Problem is, when users try to Login with Google, they get the "Error: Incorrect username or password. Please try logging in again."

I noticed that when users first try to login, it alerts them to enable cookies, even though I ensured that the browser they used had cookies enabled. After trying again, they get the incorrect credentials error mentioned earlier.

When I try to reproduce this error with my admin account, I have no issue logging in.

For students to be able to login with Google, make sure you have set the "Student email field" from School > Configuration, "RosarioSIS" tab.

tbeans I don't know if this is useful or not, but for ours to work we had to make our email addresses the username for students and users, then we were all set.

Sounds like users are trying to log in with the default Username and Password fields.

Are you sure they click on the "Login with Google" link?

So this somehow works. There is no reason why it would work for your admin user but not for other users.

I will say I have not tried it with students yet, only admin and teachers.

I’ve had an assistant principal tell me they originally were not able to login with Google, but a few hours later, it did. Now, it’s back to the same issue.

tbeans I've done some more tests, and it appears the user should have a password set (anything will do).

francoisjacquet Like I said, this has been implemented into our SSO portal, so when users click on the SIS icon on the SSO portal, they are automatically redirected to the “/plugins/Google_Social_Login/provider/Google.php” link. Since our Google domain has been put in, the Google login automatically redirects to our SSO portal, where user are already authenticated since they are already logged into the SSO portal when they clicked on the SIS tile.

Also, I assure you that our users already have a set password.

We are a school system of approximately 180,000 students, and this is the last week of the school year. Teacher grades are due on Monday, and these login problems could be very serious if we can’t resolve this in time.
